Boundary Marking

On August 27, 2025, the Board of Oil, Gas, and Mining established new rules (R647-2-107; R647-3-107; R647-4-107) that specifically target mining and exploration activities involving bonded area of less than 160 acres.

Unless otherwise approved in writing by the division, all such operations must now clearly mark on the ground any areas, including access roads to be improved or built, that are covered by the reclamation surety.

Operators have until July 1, 2026 to install necessary boundary markers.
